Gerald Peters Gallery

Gerald Peters Gallery opened in the 1970s in Santa Fe. Becoming Georgia O'Keeffe's exclusive dealer, from 1976 until her death, cemented the gallery's position in the American art world. Expanding to New York in the 1990s, Peters continued to build the gallery's programs. Sculpture and paintings from the early 19th century exploratory artists of the American West through the modern artists who worked through post war abstraction became the gallery's focus. Peters then established a formal Contemporary program with a focus on overlooked as well as emerging artists. Both locations are central to this continuing vision of uniquely American art – with its origins in the 19th century continuing through today.
