American, born 1986
Zachary Susskind works with a combination of found and industrial materials—a list that includes
aluminum, brass, lacquer, wood, silicone, rubber, foam, and assorted plastics—in such a way that explores physical properties and limits, particularly their flexibility and their weight-bearing abilities. Recurring gestures in these works include irregular folds, droops, bends, and drapes; in fact, most of his works are listed with variable dimensions. Susskind is also an active member of the Still House Group, a Brooklyn-based artist organization started by Alex Perweiler and Isaac Brest in 2007.
